Nursing Week has come and gone, but I forgot to add a few things. Being Little Miss Tamad, I only got around to posting some stuff now. Haha. :P
20 November 2008, Thursday -- Since HE was too busy with his Mr. Nursing whatevs, we didn't get to celebrate his birthday last Tuesday. Besides, I had duty that day. Luckily, there was the evening of November 20. While we were helping out with the float, Figi was telling HIM to leave na. "Mag-date na kayo, may curfew 'yan o. Baka mapagalitan pa siya nila Sister." HE was like, "Eh siya eh, gusto pa tumulong dito." Haha.
Around 8pm, we left to eat. After all, di pa naman kami nag-dinner and we had jus participated in the college aerobics thingy. That taebo thing the old people did in Plaza Mayor. Anyhoo...So there, we left the pav--but only after we came to the agreement that babalik kami to help our batchmates after eating dinner. We went around the carpark, looking for somewhere to eat. Thank God marami pang places na open! I dragged HIM to Hotshots. "It's your birthday, I'm treating you," I said. We were looking at the menu, and we both had our eyes on the same burger. Haha. Funny. Ayun, we ordered the same thing, plus fries. Then we bought a 2-liter Royal from San Mig.
HE took those pictures. I was busy writing a birthday note to him on the backside of the receipt. Haha. I'm sabog, I know. Well, that's what happens when you're working...err, on the float.
An'way...for YOUR viewing pleasure! Say "Hi!" to Bob.
Yeah, this Bob. Yeah, the Bob who took the Mr. Nursing 2008 crown. Yeah, the Bob who said, "Thank you po" to me. Aack. Don't "po" me. Ever. Or else. Haha.
Notice the difference between my photo and the other two (Liz and Kae)? He's got his arm around me. And I got mine around him. Aww. Haha. It was so funny pa, kasi after Mr. Nursing took a photo with one of my friends, wala lumalapit sa kanya. They were like, "O, sino pa gusto mapa-pic? Sige na, magpa-picture na!" I dunno if nahihiya friends ko or ayaw lang talaga nila, so I said, "Ayaw nyo magpa-pic? Fine, ako na lang!"
I stood beside him, and they were like, "Bob, kilala mo ba sya? Si JoGirl yan. Nako. Lagot ka sa guy nyan!" And he was like, "Ay, talaga? Nako, baka magalit sa akin yun." So we were all laughing, and we got ready for the picture. My friends were like, "Akbayan mo naman! Pwede naman eh!" So he did. And I did. We did. Haha. Uy, kilig. Joke! Haha. He's younger than me. I don't date boys who say, "Thank you po." Aack. Thanks for the pic, Mr. Nursing. XP
Anyhow...last Thursday, we got together during my 30-minute break in the afternoon. He just got off duty. I was with him outside the classroom.
A little while later, lumabas ng room si Faus. He often borrowed my iPod, but it wasn't with me that day. So when I saw him, I said, "Wala iPod ko!"
He didn't notice that I had company, so he snapped back, "Wala kang kwenta! Wala kang silbi! Di mo dala iPod mo!"
I fought him back. "Mas wala kang kwenta! May iPod ka nga, di mo naman nagagamit!"
"Basta, wala ka pa ring kwenta!" he yelled back. Yeah, that's how we joke around with each other. Weird? Nah, it's funny! It ws only after he said that na napansin niya kung sino kasama ko. He sort of froze for a moment, and then he looked at HIM and said apologetically, "Uy, pare, wala lang yun ha? Joke lang yun. Wala yun ha?"
Haha. Laughtrip. Being with HIM has its benefits. :)
Oh, and the funniest quote of the week comes from Faus as well, during our Psych class. He and Kuya Karl were doing a role play, and he was apparently a pediatric patient.
Karl: Ano gusto mo maging paglaki mo?
Faus: Maging dean.
Our Psych professor, who was watching the role play, happens to be the Dean of the College of Nursing. Haha. ;)
CHARTED: Nursing Week '08
We celebrated Nursing Week this past 19 November until 21 November 2008. It was good. Yeah, good. Haha. It wasn't my week, personally, so yeah. I'd rank it as good. Maybe...6.7924/10 (Hey, at least if you round that off, it becomes a 7/10!). Haha. But really. NOT. MY. WEEK. :|
Anyway, it actually started on Monday, the 17th. We had a procession around the university in honor of St. Elizabeth of Hungary. Then there was a mass at the Santissimo Rosario Church. I got to spend the mass with HIM.Yeah, we sat together. I was squished--he was too darn big. Haha. I was actually reminiscing at some point in the mass. About what? Hmm. About...stuff. Haha. I won't say na, basta it had something to do with freshman year. Haha. Hmm.
After the mass, we went to watch this really...er, informative video about St. Elizabeth. Then *dum roll, please!* DUTY!. Well, actually, we didn't have duty. Haha. But we were supposed to. We met our C.I. right after the mass and she told us, "Attend the film viewing, then meet me at the faculty or near the computer lab. May meeting lang ang faculty for a while." So that's what we did. We watched, then we stood outside theComputer Lab at 12noon (walang tao sa faculty). By 1 PM, she still hadn't met with us. She didn't even send us a message to say what we were supposed to do. At around 1.30 PM, we had gotten tired of standing so we sat at the pav. Finally she came out of the computer lab and saw us. And she was shocked to see us there! She was like, "Oh, kanina pa ba ninyo ako hinihintay? Go home na, okay? Ingat kayo." Pfft. Yeah, what a way to start the week. Haha.
Tuesday wasn't any better. I had the morning off since we had duty in the afternoon. So I texted HIM and asked if he wanted to meet up. HE was like, "Nah. May rehearsals kami for pageant." Awww. :'( Oh well. I don't remember what I did to while away the time, basta I did stuff. Then duty. New week, new patient.Grabe, duty was...I don't even know how to describe it. Basta. It was...hmph! Haha.
Then there was WEDNESDAY! Hooray! Haha. It was Yellow Day. Everyone wore yellow--well, everyone except Ate Kae (who wore black!) and HIM (goodness, he wore the uniform!). Apparently, HIM didn't get read the message about the yellow shirt. Poor kid. We were supposed to spend the morning together, before the Dean Bacala Memorial Lecture but Roch and Clang dragged him off to be their kargador. Haha. Okay lang, kasi I got to watch Nursing Idol. Joyce L was the best! Woo hoo! She does Celine Dion better than Celine Dion. Haha.
After the lecture, I had lunch with Myles and Jake. Yep, the Three Musketeers. Kasi si Friend walang friends, kaya kinuha niya yung friends namin.Poor kid. Haay nako. Go get your own friends! Hmph! Ayun tuloy, kaming tatlo lang. We ate at Manong Pepe's. Hehe. Then there was the symposium about organ transplantation. The first two speakers were great fun to listen to, they didn't make the entire thing too boring. But then, gawd, the third speaker! Ugh. I'll say it na kasi walang gusto magsabi. LAME. Haha! Yeah, I'm mean, I know. XP
Then, the highlight of Wednesday--the Mr.and Ms. Ideal Thomasian Nursing Personality! Woot woot! Yeah! Haha. Grabe, we waited in line for like, an hour. Then people cut through our line, and everyone started pushing their way to the doors. Basta, that was behavior I didn't expect from Nursing students. As in no manners, no concern for others. No anything! Grabe. (Siyempre bitter ako kasi ako yung tinutulak--ako yung maliit eh!). Anyhoo, we got good seats naman. Like, maybe six rows from the stage. But we were six, and three seats lang. So we had to share. HIS parents were like, in the row in front of me! Dear God, I thought I would die. Haha. The pageant started. Ang galing mag-voice over ni EDJO! Woo hoo! Anyway, I won't get into detail. Basta, he won two awards:
The Sponsor's Award: Mr. Choco Lava (Baby, hindi pa sinasabi yung name mo, I KNEW you were going to win this one! Haha!).
The Mr. Friendship Award. Well, he always made yabang about being the noisy one in the group and being the guy who brought the group closer. Whatev, dude.
So there. He got into the TOP FIVE! Yay! Nung coronation of winners na, and his name wasn't called for first and second runners-up, I thought he was going to win. Grabe talaga. I was shaking, kasi I really thought, He's gonna be Mr. Nursing. He's gonna be our bet for the Ideal Thomasian Personality. But he didn't win. The crown went to Bob. Yeah, Bob. Haha. But Bob's a nice guy. I met him. He's sorta shy, and quiet. And polite. I had my picture taken with him, and he was like, "Thank you po." My God, he used "po." Dear, I'm just a year older. Hehe.
The pageant finished late. I think it was almost 11 PM. Which meant I was out of the dorm way, way past curfew. I crashed at my friend's place for the night. Ugh. The things I do for YOU!
Grabe, a note to all the girls out there. Don't ever let your guys join Mr. Whatever, or the basketball varsity or any other school event. If you do, you end up experiencing the same things I did (all in just 24 hours):
1. You get squished in the line for the pageant.
2. You end up having the most uncomfortable seat while watching the pageant.
3. You get locked out of your dorm.
4. You have to lower your pride and ask a friend if you can crash over at her place.
5. You have to walk through the scary EspaƱa overpass.
6. You won't be able to sleep because you have your contact lens on and your case is in your dorm room.
7. You rush back to your dorm at 5:45 in the morning to get ready for your class attendance at 7 AM.
So there. Then Thursday and Friday, lots of events as well. There was From-D2: The Detour. Super funny ng faculty! The best si Sir Gian, and his "Breakaway" music video. And who knew Jollibee could perform CPR? Ang galing! Haha!
There was also Mr. Sexy Body! Fit All Right. My crush was there. Ahem, ahem. Haha. So funny, nung crush ko na yung papasok sa room, I had my hand on HIS arm. I held on to him tight, pero nanggigigil talaga ako kasi makikita ko na si Crush. And HE was toughening his arm para ma-feel ko biceps niya! Really, he was trying to let me know he's got muscles too. Sure, sweetie--very nice try, pero I like Crush's physique more. Haha. Ouch, ba? Oops. :P
We got to spend Thursday evening together. We were supposed to have dinner together, but I told HIM that we should just help out sa float-making for the parade the next day. When we were walking out of the school to buy some materials, I told him, "See? Masaya kaya tumulong sa float! It's like High School Musical--the first one, with Troy and Gabriella in detention with Darbus." And then humirit na naman siya, "Eh ayoko pa rin nito."
I thought he was gonna say ayaw niya kasi he wanted us to have dinner for two. Instead he said, "Hindi ka pa rin kumakanta nung 'TROOOOOOY!'" Haha. Weren't we over that na? :)
FRIDAY. I joined the procession...er, parade. Then we watched House Bunny. Then I went home na. Haha. I was pissed off nung Friday eh. It capped off a pretty weird week for me. Much to enjoy, but much to feel sad about din. Haha. But yeah, I'm focusing on the fun, fun, fun stuff. :P
I watched the Mr. and Ms. Nursing Talent Night last Thursday, which I never did during the past two years. What changed? Of course, I was there to support HIM. Yeah, I had reason to go. Whodathunkit?
I even dragged my classmates to the event. I asked nicely if my classmates could come with me to watch, kasi wala ako kasama. So yeah, we were probably the only group of people there na walang representative sa Mr. and Ms., but we went anway. Haha. To support HIM and AP (yihee, Ate Kae!). They're the best classmates ever! As in they waited pa until HIS performance, which happened to be near the end of the evening pa! So there, we waited for a long time just to watch him. But, sabi nga nila, "It was worth the wait" naman daw. (My classmates' words, not mine. Haha!).
Some of the notable and memorable performances of the evening included the Korean Fan Dance by Shim, the duet by CC and, er...that beautiful Year 4 student. There was the piano performance by Mr. Number 2. And of course, HIM and his partner (another contestant), Shy.
They based their performance of "Bleeding Love" on Mark and Chelsie on So You Think You Can Dance. (I was gonna post a link to Mark and Chelsie's performance, but never mind--just search for it on YouTube. Haha!). They were great. The audience loved it. The judges loved it. I loved it. (Yes, I loved it--I didn't say HIM. Hmm. Nothing to read between the lines, ayt? Haha.).
Comments from the judges--
Ma'am Turingan: "...Kung merong perfect example ng word na confidence, kayong dalawa 'yon...'Yung facial expression niya talaga, dalang-dala kami dito."
Sir Hibek: "[HIS name here] outshined the performance of the girl...Throughout that performance, It was [HIM] who carried the show."
So yeah, you can see how they all loved it. I posted the video here, but medyo magulo and maingay. Blame it on my classmates, who kept shaking me and shouting in my ear. Haha. XP
Hey, hey! Vote, vote, vote! If Americans have Obama as President, we can help make HIM the new Mr. Nusing 2008. Haha. Oh God, too much promotionals on my Multiply already, I can be his publicist. Haha. Well, I'm the number one fangirl. Syempre, I get more than just a pre-signed autographed photo from him. ;)
So the next evening (Friday night), I was watching him from the sidelines again. Yeah, yan naman trabaho ko eh--camera girl, towel girl, water girl, taga-bantay ng gamit niya, cheerleader. I'm like, the yaya. Well, personal assistant.
Anyway, he had a basketball game. So part na naman ako ng audience. Took him a while to get his game on, but he managed to get a feel of it by the second quarter. He had a memorable three-point shot, sayang lang wala akong vid. Haha. Well, most of the time naman kasi he was either rolling on the floor or falling flat on his bum. Haha. But marami siya nagawa nung fourth quarter na.
The sad thing was, he had a bad fall kaya masakit yung wrist niya. Kaya tuloy he missed even the free throws. But after the game, we hung out together and he said, "Alam mo ba kung bakit hindi ako maka-score nung free throws?"
I replied, "Malamang dahil masakit wrist mo. Duh."
He shook his head. "Eh, hindi. Meron pang ibang dahilan."
I shrugged. How was I supposed to know? Do I look like a psycho--I mean, psychic?
So when I didn't answer, he continued. "Kasi naalala ko High School Musical. Hinihintay ko na tatahimik lahat tapos tatayo ka and kakanta nung 'Trooooooy!'"
HAHA. Grabe, laughtrip. Sobra. It's so gay, I know. But still, if you have no idea what he meant, watch High School Musical 3's "Now or Never" video, where Troy has to make a free throw and Gabriella stands up while eveyone is covered with the Wildcats cards and she sings 'Troooooy!' Haha. Super funny.
Don't count on me standing up and singing that, sweetie. Haha. :P
I've been on duty in different hospital wards for the past three semesters (four, if including this sem), and I always thought I'd never get a "Grey's Anatomy" moment--until this week.
Grabe, we were assigned to this ward for six weeks. And I happened to be assigned to a patient hooked to a mechanical vent. So yeah, there's a machine. That's run by electricity. Which is why it was plugged to an outlet in the corner.
Anyhoo...while I was checking data on the chart at the Nurses' Station, there was a glitch in the power supply and--shit!--NAG-BLACK OUT! As in no electricity. Kaya no power supply. Kaya the mech vent wouldn't work. Grabe! Everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) rushed to the patients with mech vents, ready to use the Ambu-Bag manually. Wow.
It was like straight out of a scene from Grey's. Haha.
Ayun. Well, the generator came back immediately, so no damage was done and everyone was fine. Yah. Haha.
i get the feeling that most of my blockmates are still bagsak after last night. haha.
i finally managed to go to the college party. last year and the year before that kasi, i didn't go. this time, i had good reason to go. hmm. haha!
anywho, i had class was supposed to have class yesterday afternoon, but apparently, wala naman yung mga profs. so, we left school early. siyempre advantage yun sa amin since there was the party in the evening.
you-know-who and i went to the party together. when i was still in the dorm dressing up and he was waiting for me downstairs, he called me and the first thing he said was, "take your time." ewan ko ba kung tamad na maghintay or talagang ayaw niya lang ako pagmadaliin. haha. grabe, ang hirap pala maghanap ng taxi. we even met two of our profs, waiting for an available cab. pero nauna kami makakuha. haha.
the party was supposed to start at 6pm--but c'mon, who comes early to a college party, di ba? haha. we got there at past 7pm, and there weren't a lot of people yet. wala pa yung people from my section. eh HE was being called na kasi contestant nga siya for the Mr. and Ms. Nursing, so poor little me had to be alone. buti na lang mabait si miguel, pinabayaan muna niya kaming magkasama para hindi naman ako loner. we managed to have our picture taken, kaso sabog kami. haha. di marunong mag-isip ng pose, eh naka-timer yung cam. ayun, caught at the wrong moment. losers. haha.
i kinda lost track of time when we got there. basta alam ko jolo, ash and johann were the first of my blockmates to arrive. medyo nawala-wala pa kasi sila eh. haha. but at least may mga kasama na ako, kasi HE left me na for the pageant thingy. hay nako. tss. haha. just kidding. :P
the four boys and i had our pictures taken dun sa parang photo booth thingy. then dumating na yung RLE 4 people. then dumating na sina faus and wally. then si geo. so in short, RLE 1 boys and RLE 4 pairs were there. ako nag-iisang RLE 3. si ate kae kasi ang tagal! anu ba yan?! haha.
while waiting for the RLE 1 girls, the RLE 2 girls, and RLE 3's ate kae, one of the boys muna ako. not exactly the best idea. but with HIM being busy for their strut down the runway (and he was wearing the GREEN glow stick, by the way! alam n'yo naman kung ano yung meaning ng GREEN glow sticks), ang pwede ko lang samahan were the boys. i wore the YELLOW glow stick naman eh. you know, yellow. haha. we went to the bar and gave our drink stubs. the boys were gonna get miami vice dapat after seeing RLE 4 drink it, but one "mixologist" saw us and said, "ilan sila? six! nah, we'll give them something else. yung caterpillar." what the?! sige lang, gawa lang ng drink. nakatingin na lang ako and sina ash, wally, johann, faus and geo dun sa ginagawang drink. bahala na kung ano laman. the only thing i recognized was tanduay, eh. the guy gave us the cups then nakalagay sa taas yung shot glass. na-excite naman ako, haha. then he said, "when i say grab a glass, grab one." he tipped the shot glasses into the cups and said go. inom naman kaming lahat. haha. masarap, actually.
finally dumating na yung mga girls! hey, hey, the gang's all here. kawawa naman kami ni ate kae, dadalawa lang kami from our RLE. pero afterwards nakita rin namin si shay and si philip.
i saw a lot of old blockmates from 1-3. parang reunion eh. haha. i saw some from HIS section din. and other friends-friends from other sections.
but ang hinihintay ko lang naman talaga was yung walk ng pageant people. hmm. haha. well, kami ni ate kae yun ang hinihintay eh (haha, nandamay pa!). XP sayang, i got it on video but hindi maganda yung kuha. the great thing, though, was that nakaupo kami right beside the runway, kaya malapit kami. and i had the best classmates, they were like, "para sa yo, fides, we'll cheer pag siya na yung naglalakad." aww. haha.
we did get to spend time together after HIS walk. aba, dapat lang. haha. sayang nga lang, the driver was at palacio with my folks at around 11pm. naki-bargain pa ako sa nanay ko, sabi ko pwede ba 12midnight? ayaw. fine, 11.30pm. okay daw. when 11.30pm came, i was gonna ask her kung pwede pa mag-extend ng ten minutes, kaso it was my dad who called na eh. nako. wala na. haha.
HE walked me to my car. patawa pa, sabi niya when we were still inside, "hatid kita hanggang sa car nyo." then when we stepped out of palacio, napatigil siya for a sec and he said, "naku, kasama ba daddy mo? hahatid pa ba kita?" haha. cute.
hey YOU. thanks for the night. next year ulit. haha.
P.S. hey 3-7, next year dapat complete attendance. RLE 3 ha! nako. haha.
